and/or gymnastics and/or tumbling. Need energy and stamina.
MUST attend all practices/games/events. Practices are Tuesday
and Thursday after school and Wednesday mornings. After school
games and some weekend competitions/workshops are also performed. |

| Girl's Field Hockey is a fun sport with a combination
of soccer and hockey skills. It is a short season - September
to mid-October. All ages are welcome, and no experience is
necessary. We provide the training! |

| 40 students are on the team. Practices include
hills on Monday nights and speedwork Thursday night on the
track. Running practice every night after school. Zone is
mid- October. SOSSA is the last week of October. OFSAA is
on November 1 in Renfrew. Parents needed for driving and moral
support. |

Boys in Grades 9 or 10 have the opportunity
to play Jr. Hockey. This team practices 1 - 2x a week and
plays roughly one game a week. Practices take place 7:15am
at the Community Centre. The season usually goes into early
April. If students make the team there will be a $100 dollar
user hockey fee.

night. Competitions start in April, continue through May and
June. GSS girls have been Zone champs 8 of the last 10 years.
GSS has been Zone champ 4 of the last 6 years. We love Grade
9's coming out. Parents needed for driving and moral support.

for continued success. There are many positions available
because of various departures throughout the year. Indoor

season runs from late March-May. Parents are welcome to assist.

Sign ups occur during the 2nd-3rd week of November.
The rowing season can be divided in 2 periods. Winter training
begins in December and ends in late March when crews are selected
for on-water training. The training for rowing is very demanding
as is the commitment to the sport. We row 6-7 days per week
during the on-water training period including weekends when
most regattas occur.
