Welcome to the G.S.S. Technology Department

These technical programs provide students with an opportunity to experience and explore the various career opportunities that exist in an ever growing work world. The use of traditional work experiences in addition to the use of computerized machines and tools allow students to develop interests and skills that will enable them to further studies at the post secondary level or apprenticeship level of studies.

The technical program also provides students with transferable skills for the work place. In addition, students may develop a cooperative education program to enhance their technical education studies.

Specialist High Skills Major

 The new Specialist High Skills Major a ministry approved specialized program that allows students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector (eg. Construction, Hospitality and Tourism, Manufacturing, Transportation, Communications) while meeting the requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
Skills Challenges Participation in the DSBN Skills Challenges provides students with the opportunity to represent their schools and to test their skills against students from across the district.
